Raising Towers over Paddington

The skyline of Paddington is set to change again along two parts of Paddington, along the Westway. Almost above Paddington Railway Station at the rear of Bishop Bridge Rd opposite the infamous Brunel Building we see two 20 storey towers rising above the taxis rank entrance. And the other site is on the old Paddington Green Police Station, on the second phase of West End Green, another two residential towers are going up at the foot of the Marylebone flyover.

Whilst all these towers are literately rising right now out of the ground, the only one with outstanding planning permission for over a decade maybe and change of use to residential away from offices, is yet to be built out as the main building in Paddington Basin, 1 Merchant Square, otherwise known as the ‘Cucumber’.
